Description
The Director of Operations will lead and optimize COMPANY NAME's operational functions to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. This role requires strategic leadership to design and implement processes, manage cross-functional teams, oversee supply chain and vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement using data-driven insights. The Director of Operations partners with executive leadership to align operational priorities with business goals, manage budgets and P&L responsibilities, and ensure compliance and risk mitigation across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an operational strategy that supports COMPANY NAME's short- and long-term objectives.
- Manage day-to-day operations across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, customer fulfillment, and service delivery as applicable.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management for operational units; implement cost control measures.
- Partner with product, sales, finance, HR, and technology teams to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration and execution.
- Implement and maintain operational systems and ERP solutions to improve data integrity and operational visibility.
- Manage vendor selection, contracting, performance, and relationships to ensure service level and cost targets are met.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, safety standards, and risk management practices across operations.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor high-performing operations teams and build a strong culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Lead change management efforts during scaling, restructuring, or technology implementations.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to the executive team and board on operational performance and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-12 years of progressive operations leadership experience, with proven success managing multi-site, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and operational transformations that delivered measurable results.
- Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and operational analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, procurement, and vendor management best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.
- Experience in regulated industries or compliance-heavy environments is a plus.
- Certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or APICS are advantageous.
